Caret is a Markdown editor that combines the aesthetics of prose editors with the productivity features of code editors – features like syntax assistance, multiple cursors, file manager, etc. It’s based on a Markdown algorithm that the team wrote a while back and open-sourced at https://github.com/erusev/parsedown.

We’ve been working on Caret full-time for almost 2 years. We released version 1.0 about a year ago and today we’re excited to show you version 2.0.
